This is one of those full circle stories which I love! Miranda and I have known one another for quite a few years. Even though we weren’t close growing up (different friends, different schools you get the picture) we connect on many levels now. From birth to parenting and everything in between there is so much we have in common.
Through being her doula, supporting her through the incredible birth of Drew and being able to document the experience through birth photography has really inspired me. I’ve discovered that the more I get to connect with women the more my passion grows. To see women supported, heard, understood and empowered is everything. Women are the centre of it all!
My goal at the beginning of 2018 was to centre my business as a doula and a photographer around women. Empowering women of all walks/stages/phases of life to accept and embrace all that life has to offer. Being able to capture women in their most raw and real moments is such a privilege. Although this blurb isn’t specifically newborn related I think we can all take a few moments and think about the women/mothers in our lives. Are they supported? Are the heard? Do they have a village? If you can think of someone and the answer the those questions is no, please be the world shaker for that woman.
So to finish, thank you Miranda for reminding me all the reasons I do what I do!
All my love, xo
